MidDel Consulting was approached by a large East Coast natural gas utility and marketing company to assist in integrating a newly acquired retail business into their existing systems. MidDel was also asked to implement a number of improvements to pricing formulas, risk and accounting reports, and key trade controls in order to facilitate the new business.
The client is a fully integrated electric utility in the Midwest, not currently participating in a major organized transmission system. They and other utilities were contemplating entering into an organized system, most likely the Southwest Power Pool.
The client required that their software program be re-written to follow the group’s standards, while ensuring high availability.
Client required a solution to monitor real-time data based on readings from OSIsoft PI. Our consultant developed a .Net application that supplied the client a clean, lightweight solution cirtical for their energy traders to monitor their positions.
Our client, a large refined products blending company, implemented an ETRM system a number of years ago. The original software that was implemented failed to meet the needs around inventory valuation and reporting.
